Project Description
Forte Sangallo
Nettuno. A sustainable management model for the Renaissance fortress on the sea: open to the public, with a stable cultural program, without burdening the municipal budget.
01A fortress to give back to the city
Forte Sangallo is a Renaissance fortress of great historical value in the municipality of Nettuno: bastions overlooking the sea, a colonnaded courtyard, halls housing the area’s archaeological collections.
The municipal administration needed to develop a sustainable management model that would allow the fortress to open to the public and host a stable cultural program, without burdening the municipal budget.
02A public-private partnership
Renovatio supported the City in designing a PPP model, structured around four interventions.
The agreement. Drafting of the agreement between the public body and the operator, with clearly defined roles, obligations and guarantees.
The cultural plan. Building the annual cultural program: exhibitions, openings, activities for the community and for visitors.
Sustainability. Identifying revenue-generating activities compatible with the site’s cultural purpose.
The start-up. Operational support during the management start-up phase, through to full autonomy.
All in line with Legislative Decree 36/2023 and the MiC guidelines for the management of public cultural assets.
«Since 2024 Forte Sangallo has been managed under the new model: open to the public, with a program approved by the administration and balanced accounts.»
