Project Description
Genoa in 10 Masterpieces
A journey in ten stops. Behind the facades of its palaces, in churches and museums, Genoa holds works able to tell its history and identity: ten masterpieces, each told in just a few minutes with art historian Giacomo Montanari.
01A city that never stops surprising
Genoa is a city that never stops surprising. Behind the facades of its palaces, in churches, museums and its lesser-known places, works are held that are able to tell its history, identity and extraordinary cultural richness.
For Fuori (dai) Rolli, art historian Giacomo Montanari presents Genoa in 10 Masterpieces: a video campaign dedicated to ten emblematic works of the city, from Voltri to Nervi. Short episodes, just a few minutes long, designed for digital channels: each installment is an invitation to stop, observe and rediscover Genoa with fresh eyes.
The journey began at Palazzo Tursi with Canova’s Penitent Magdalene and continued at the Museo d’Arte Orientale with the Chiossone Mirror: a masterpiece that tells a story of encounters and cultural exchange, and the story of Edoardo Chiossone, who devoted his life to Japanese art, leaving the city one of Europe’s most important collections. Eight masterpieces are still to be unveiled.
